Once you find a book cover you like, you will then need to change the size of the document in Canva.
Make sure you know the size of your finished book cover! I am designing a 7×10″ journal that will be published on Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) I know that the front cover will include a “bleed” where the printing bleeds off the edges. To do this I must include .125″ extra on all sides. So my Front Cover Size will be 7.25″x10.25″.
In this video I show you how to resize the template you chose to the correct output size and also how to find a new background photo and replace it. You can also upload your own photo! I did not go into this on the video, but you would simply go to “Uploads” in the left sidebar in Canva and upload the photo from your device and then it is available for you to use, just like the Canva stock images.
This Course uses Canva Pro to Design and Layout a Book Cover. You can definitely use the free version of Canva, but you may not have the same capabilities or all of the free fonts and photos available. If you do not have a Canva Pro account and would like to give it a try, you can use my Partner Link to get 45 DAYS of Canva Pro FREE! Just Click Here to sign up.
